I've been using a 10l stock pot for my sparge water this far and it works fine for my 15l batches but can be awkward hitting the right temp. I want to do a couple of 23l batches so was thinking of getting a proper sparge water heater, but I was wondering if they can be used to boil wort for a small batch if I fancy trying a partigyle brew.

The alternative is a 20l pan which should heat and boil fine on my biggest hob and be usable for both functions. This is also probably quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks. Nice to see someone showing a boil and keep it for a length of time. My googling didn't turn up anything of use. I especially like that it has a ball valve tap rather than a plastic one, so much more versatile.

I've got the bulldog sparger. The ball valve is great because I can use the bulldog pump interchangeably between the brewer and the sparger. This means I can pump the sparge water over the grains with both vessels at the same height. I can also heat up the mash liquor in the sparger and underlet the mash by pumping into the brewer.

That's pretty cool, I've got a grainfather so I'm a bit more limited in how I can use the pump unfortunately.
