Hi all

After stocking up on lemons to make elderflower wine I've found myself with about a carrier bags worth of spare lemons, any ideas on lemon heavy recipes to use them up? I would say lemon aid/wine but I've already got a gallon of the stuff clearing atm.

Cheers

why not make some ginger beer ?

ginger is inexpensive, but finding cream of tartar powder could be dificult unless you have a baking section at a local store

if you want ill report back as to how my fiery ginger beer is coming along 2moz as im going to transfer it from the primary fermenter to a king keg :D

How about Lemon Wine?

1 gallon Dry Lemon wine:

8 lemons
250g sultanas ( or white grape juice)
1 tsp pectolase 1.2kg sugar ( 1kg would do)
1 tsp nutrient
Yeast

Sweet:

10 lemons & 1.6 kg sugar, 500g sultanas, suggest high abv. yeast for this one.

Juice all lemons, chop all sultanas, 1 camden leave must for day, disolve sugar in boiling water and pour over must when cool add yeast, pectolase and nutrient, rack off must after 7 days and top up, leave until complete 0.990 dry, > 1 for sweet or medium.

I've just today bottled a quick throw together lemon, lime and white grape wine, lol one thing i will be using it for if it turns out to be to rough is using it to swish round my FV's/king keg to remove beer/hop odours which it seemed to be good at.

I've used lemons to clean the fridge veg' draws, gets rid of smells, could used clean your bins lol

It's Sunday. Roast chicken day..? You could shove a couple up the bird's jacksee and make a nice lemon posset for afters. Then if there's any left, slice up for freezing or adding to G & T.
