Hi all,has anyone used these, not sure if i have made a bad purchase (100g pellets)
I have a Coopers Pale Ale,a Brewferm Gtand Cru and a Black Rock Pilsner, any ideas on which one to dry hop with, reading some poor reviews now about this hop but the beer i had from M&S was superb. Any thoughts,? thanks

Have dry hopped a rye IPA with these and Nelson Sauvin - will test tonight and let you know.

I've had 100g of these knocking around for ages! Mixed reviews put me off, but I'll have to brew a SMaSH with it soon.

Dave

I've also got some in the freezer, but not got around to using them. Will do soon I think, with some Saison yeast.

Good, im not the only one, do you guys think it would suit one kit over the other
Belgian Grand Cru with Sorachi Ace
Coopers Pale Ale with Sorachi Ace
Or
Black Rock Pilsner with Sorachi Ace
All sound ok to me but im only doing this to one as i have some Amarillo to use up too.
Cheers

The hops had a pleasant bitterness to the brew, not overpowering. I'd suggest pilsner.

I don't think I'd recommend dry hopping the Grand Cru - it's a quality beer that doesn't need any help, added to which, dry hopping flavours / aromas tend to fade over time and the Brewferm kits really only come good once they've been in the bottle for several months.

Can't see any harm in seeing what they do to either of the other kits, though.

That Sorachi Saison from M&S is outstanding! I'm a big fan of this hop and I'd agree that the lemony-pepper flavours from it would be lovely with the pilsner.

I've got a bottle of Brooklyn Sorachi Ace that's waiting to be drunk. I didn't realise it was named after a hop!

I'd go Pilsner. I've got a Riwaka / Sorachi ace Pilsner based pale planned. I'm also doing a single hop Sorachi ace with extra pale malt, Munich and wheat. I'm aiming for a super light crisp lemony drink.

It was developed as a lager hop. It's saaz crossed with something else, can't recall what though.

I also think it would work well with Amarillo and green bullet (orange and lime flavours respectively)

Im afraid ive already bottled the pilsner with a 20g Nelson Sauvin hop tea, i am going to split the Pale Ale and dry hop 10l with 15g of the Sorachi.
Cheers
