Lol yeah that kind of happens don't it . Had it a few times myself now  but it's the thought that counts :hmm:

Could be worse, I'm a graphic designer / typesetter. I did a Christmas leaflet for an Asian mini-market and they rewarded me with a slab of Carling!

Fair play, I told them where to stuff it and they did swop it for a slab of Newkie Brown. That was before I returned to brewing my own.

I did put my "How very kind of you" face on...something that I have recently got down to a fine art...but your right, Its the thought that counts.
For sale 24 x 440ml Fosters Lager. offers in the region of.....no you can have them

I got the same...slab of Carling...

I drank it when nowt was left...

I still have a pack of 4 cans of John Smiths somewhere in the garage. We had a new years eve party and some bright spark brought the "Extra Rough"...My Homebrew got smashed...2 corneys and loads of bottles went west

I feel so very guilty about making this post. The job involved 30 mins of my time, It is something that I enjoy doing, and now Im feeling like a ungreatful idiot. I think I need a beer.

Yeah, I get that quite a bit...

Buds, Carlsbergs, Bells...

I usually keep them for when people who don't appreciate the finer aspects of my beer come round! (And the bells is good for baking and toddies...)

Have you considered you may have become beer snobs? :)

This happened to be with music decades ago but maybe that's different, cause I oddly found a lot of the pop I had ignored and avoided somewhat pleasing later. Granted listening to the best hits of the best hits 10 years later purifies the stock. And I suppose you guys are only being snobby about the latest swill. You never know some of these swill brews might be remembered later as classics and loved, cloned and brewed.

Yes. Carefully. And in great detail.

I am.

I am also very happy about it.

Ive just thought of a idea that I will call "friendship vouchers". These are on the exact line of our present currency vouchers ( pound notes) but are only redeemable a Homebrew shops............."what shall I buy Johnnyboy for Xmas"...(not that I agree, with exchanging gifts on religious festivals)..." Get him some Friendship Vouchers".
I can only see this as a "win win" outcome

A very, very good point,......but there is a difference. I do like quite a lot of commercial beers .Oakhams Citra, etc...but its down to the cost of buying this beer (JMHO).
Music can be downloaded for free, I don't have to spend my, hard earned, on it. And please believe me that any of the swill, will not be remembered
And no, I do not consider myself as a "beer snob". But I do know what I like the taste of and what I don't.
Slightly confused about your reply.

Christmas is religious? I thought it was all about winter losing and spring coming. 22nd of December is the longest night of the year and when the night finally loses to the day which lengthens, warms and brightens from then on. That's something to celebrate, give thanks for and share. Just cause it happens every year and we know scientifically it should 'always' happen and why, doesn't stop it being special. You could say that babies being born is 'always' going to happen and isn't that still special?

The 25th thing is to do with the Gregorian monks (and the Christian's) not being very good at maths or something.

Fosters ... can be interesting for a cheap summer swill beer, the only problem I have with it is that the next morning I have caramel farts.

Touche, 21st, but it can happen on 20th-22nd depending on many variables... according to wikipedia :) Not forgetting that it happens in June in Australia.
