Looks like it was true but Brewdog didn't know about the pro-Trump stance and have since pulled the events.

Looks like you missed the recent update to the article "Updated 12:59, 27.09.2018: Brewdog says it knew nothing about its collaborators plans, will cancel all events, and says it cares about people and beer, not hate." It could be the whole thing is a publicity stunt by brewdog to denounce Trump or what they say is true but it seems weird they would have this agreement and not know until the last min. what the intentions are. I would respect brewdogs intentions more if they said they want to remain politically neutral instead of branding all trump supporters with hate.

Brewdog have always made it pretty clear where they stand politically, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

It's also likely that when making a beer deal politics didn't come up, and the US brewery just announced it thinking Brewdog would be on their side. If this is the case they should have done their homework.

Looks like they are now getting free advertising on the BBC as its just been discussed on the news on 5 Live.

My guess is there's more to it than what it seems. I guess it would be even better publicity if Brewdog 'd 've changed it to support another politician. They'd get the positive attention, telly time and no need to cancel everything and send everything back.
That would have been the logistically logically thing to do.

Released on their behalf in error... Well if that's the case, they might regret outsourcing that particular task.

Yup, just read that. Oh well, at least better than "we were hacked" or "my prescription drugs made me tweet it".

Let's not forget the past tense of "to tweet".
