I'm going to see how this brew turns out then either drill the lid in the current FV and use an airlock in the next brew or use that as a secondary FV

always get a second Fv. It allows you to put another brew on.....

Another noob question from me. I thought I'd read on here that you can't use crown caps on threaded beer bottles when bottling but I can't seem to find that thread again

Is this right or did I imagine it in the haze of putting together my first brew?
