The moderators (and admin) work very hard to ensure this forum is free of spam and free of aggression/flaming so you can enjoy talking about beer. It seems somewhat ungrateful to compare the forum to "Big Brother" without justifying your comment. :cry:

We don't always have the time to let you know what were doing to improve the forum or to prevent spammers from ruining it, however, I would have thought that any steps being taken would have been seen positively as they're always made for a good reason.
How this can translate into a 'nanny state' or ruining chances of 'promotion' is beyond me, very disappointed by the comments tbh!

Smilies are an important part of the forum experience if they are not used then readers can finder it harder to determine how to take your comments, this can cause tension and arguments as I well know.

But if limiting the number to 5 leads to a better experience for us all then surely that is a small price to pay :thumb: :thumb:

Everyone is here by choice, if the limitation of smilies is such a galling imposition then people have the choice not to participate, the thing that we members must be aware of is that "The Team" also make a choice and that is to spend a significant amount of their own time making sure this place runs smoothly.

Not everyone will agree with every decision but I'm 100% certain that no decision on this forum is ever made with the intention of being spiteful, this forum is well run and everything I have seen points to the fact that decisions are made with the interests of the majority at their heart.
