Is there anywhere to buy small beer bottles from? I'm thinking ahead for when my kriek is ready as I'd like to bottle in quantities smaller than the 500ml bottles that are easily available. I'd prefer to cap these rather than use screw tops and either green or brown glass.

Thanks!

what about the cheap lager or shandy that comes in the 300ml ish bottles about 8-10 bottles for £2-£3 in most supermarkets. i know the glass is not that thick but if your stuck

I've successfully capped quite a few different types of small bottle recently. Bud, peroni, some aldi multi pack 330ml stuff, some 250ml stubbies, Birra Moretti. I prefer the 330 sizes where possible.

The best thing about Budsh*te, well actually the only good thing about it is the bottles pitty It doesn't regularly come in 500ml bottles.

Pizza Hut sell Budsh*te probably plenty knocking around in their bins at a weekend. They also sell Magnash*te as well. :thumb: :thumb:

I managed to collect 70 bottles - some 330ml, some 350ml ranging from Sierra Nevada Pale Ale bottles, BrewDog Punk IPA and Cobra (for those times you just have to have a mass produced indian lager with a curry - seem slightly harder to cap but are fine). About £1.80 a bottle from Sainsburys, but at least you get a decent beer to drink while brewing!

I like the 330ml cobra bottles as they are really sturdy and de-label easily enough. They cap OK with my capper too.

Boxes of 12 or 15 San Miguel, either 285 or 330 ml for me, brown plain bottles, cap easily, labels slip off after 10 minutes soaking, and I store them in the boxes for conditioning. I've five boxes full of Better Brew Czech Pilsner, lovely stuff.

Try B&M's ale section. I got a load of small ale bottles for around 80p each. The beer wasnt great but better than Bud.

Try your local curry houses, especially on a Friday, they're normally happy to be shot of cobra bottles. The 330ml ones are great! Alternatively hanging round bottle banks and simply asking is a great way to source bottles. Happy brewing.
