Simple lager recipe??

Hi, I'm thinking of having a crack at an all grain lager after Christmas.

I saw a youtube video where the boiled all there beer grains in a muslin bag in a stainless pot. Just like a big tea bag.

Could anyone point me towards a easy but tested lager recipe??

What you saw there was a demonstration of Brew in a Bag (BIAB). Any AG recipe will work as BIAB is a simpler way of doing it all in one pot. i.e. Steep, boil, cool as opposed to Steeping in one vessel transferring it to a mash tun for the mashing then transferring brew to another vessel to boil.

If you look at the recipe's list at the top of the page you will find something there.
 
4Kg Lager malt

Mash at 65C for 90 minutes, then boil for 90 minutes with

50g Saaz Hops for 90 minutes
25g Saaz hops at switch off

Ferment with a lager yeast at 12C (or a clean ale yeast at 18C say Nottingham or US-05)

Should be around 4.5%

Brewing in a bag. Thats what I couldnt remember :)

I will iterate that having tried it several times with known recipes against the same beer brewed on a traditional 3V brewery, that there are flaws with the process but these really only become apparent after long term storage of the beer. If you are drinking your beer within 3 months of brewing it's a great method, as long as you don't want to brew a big volume or make high strength beers

Without knowing the grist composition and the hops (weights and Alpha Acids) supplied, it is difficult to answer that question. It is unlikely that the kit supplied will make BAD beer . . .but the instructions supplied may not be as complete as you like them. To be frank, if you only have one kit under your belt, then you need to have a look at something like Brewstews Guide to Your Fisrt All Grain Beer, just so that you understand the process . . . OK so BIAB is a little different, but the principles remain.

I may well do another BIAB soon just so that I can create a BIAB How to. I may even use the recipe that I posted in response to your original question.
