Something nice and simple to ease me back into brewing. Coopers Canadian Blonde, Brew Enhancer, 500g Medium DME, 25g Bobek 15 mins, 25g 5 mins. CML Real Ale yeast.

Came out sort of IPA in colour (and taste, actually, but I suspect the hops will fade).

OG 1048.

I've done the Coopers Blonbe with a hop tea and it was very nice. The lighter lager kits are great for showcasing hops through a hop tea and dry hopping.

Went to check on it this morning (it's in the garage) and had a bit of a panic because there was no airlock activity. Closer inspection revealed a healthy head of yeast activity so I must have an air leak somewhere, so it's all good. Builder's trub water bath is holding at a steady 20 degrees, so it's all good. Smells nice.

Just checked on it again and my tightening / fiddling worked and the air lock is now plopping away nicely, which is immensely satisfying. I don't know why, as it would have been fermenting anyway, but it just is!
