For the first time in 47 years, the Adams County SPCA in Pennsylvania is completely empty.
All of their dogs were adopted.

Stephanie Boyd, 42, and Daniel Jordan, 36, were convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to six puppies who had spinal deformities from malnourishment, the RSPCA said.
The pair, both of Uxbridge Grove in Hull, were sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court on Friday.
The charity said just three of the puppies survived and had been rehomed.
Boyd and Jordan were given four-month prison sentences, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay costs of £400 each.
According to the RSPCA, the court heard a man took six emaciated puppies - three male and one female, all around four months - to a rescue centre in December 2022, claiming his child found them abandoned in the street.
The RSPCA were called but, despite veterinary care, two puppies died overnight and a third was put to sleep soon after.
The breeders were identified through media coverage but, when the RSPCA visited the couple's address, Boyd said six puppies had been rehomed to a man she had no details of.
The examining vet said the puppies had most likely suffered malnutrition and limited exercise for "a prolonged period", and had "no muscle mass and bony prominences visible under the skin."
All were emaciated with a hunched posture, curved spines and fleas. The vet said they could have been in that condition for up to half of their lives.
"In my opinion the puppies were suffering for a minimum of two weeks to get into the condition they were in, but likely longer, possibly up to two months," she said.
The three remaining puppies had made a full recovery and had been rehomed, the RSPCA said.

Just a general question, how often do you take the dog to the vet's. Do they get regular injections, how often do you worm the dog.

Worming depends on age. We so it as per the guidelines.
Vets for injections only. Although I took our dog for a walk through the field on Wednesday and she all of a sudden started constantly sneezing. We have free access to a online video vet, excellent service and all sorted after a 10 minutes video consultation.

Not my dog but had to post this -

The eastern copperhead, also known simply as the copperhead, is a species of venomous snake, a pit viper, endemic to eastern North America; it is a member of the subfamily Crotalinae in the family Viperidae. Wikipedia

Well Ruger saved me a hospital trip maybe even my life.
He has never bitten me beside playing but today while walking the lake as we always do he became pretty aggressive nipping at me then wrapped my leg and his dew claws really dig in I turned to scold him and he ran around me like trying to avoid me.
I turned to grab him and he had a copper head backed against a log and he tried to kill him till I got a stick to finish him off.
Almost filled my eyes with tears knowing he risked his life to save me.
I sat down with him and held him.
This guy is my guardian best dog ever award goes to this guy.
Rather have this cut that the bite from that copperhead any day.
Thankful for my best friend

I use a worming tablet that lasts for 3 months. €5 from carn vets and she gets a kennel cough vaccine every year and her boosters when she needs them (annual normally) few pound spent to keep them right. She is in daycare 2/3 days a week so it’s easier if I know she’s protected rather than depending on others to keep their dogs up to date

I didn't post this at the time but Elsa My Airedale has moved on. She had lost a bit of weight after Christmas. Scan at the vet showed a tumor in her spleen. That was on the Tuesday, I got to take her home and spend Wednesday with her. On the Thursday I had to carry her into the vets. It all happened so quickly, broke everyone's heart in the family.
This is her during the snow we had mid January. Two weeks before the tumor, she was only 9. Fit healthy dog her whole life.

I don't think I will ever have another dog like her. Her personality was so different
