Saw this on another forum and it'll be interesting for the younger members to see what a proper car looks like compared to todays jelly moulds.

These were the first 5 cars i owned in order.

Learnt to drive in a 120Y Datsun.

Vauxhall nova.

Ford Cortina.

Ford Capri.

MK5 Cortina.

Toyota Carina - OK as a first sensible married car

Rover Sei- Bought tax free, sold it to my dad to fund my first house deposit and he ran it for the next 18 years.

Loved the early escorts but never owned one.

Golfs were the business shame they now look almost exactly the same after every facelift.

Fiesta 1.0L Popular. 1980 plate. Crashed it and scrapped.

Datsun Cherry Coupe. 1979 plate. After 2 years sold it back to the bloke I bought it off for more than he sold it to me.

Capri 1.6 Laser. 1982. Sold as I got a company car below

1994 Sierra LX. All expenses paid baby! I had arrived. :)

Job didn’t work out :) Ford XR2 1984 plate.

If I remember rightly bought it in 1995 as an 18 year old for £300 it was a bin and the insurance was obscene!! Still loved it though

First car was a 205 gti, 1.6 in miami blue. Car cost £1200, insurance was £1600. Great car, unfortunately my dad was driving it and someone crashed into him, and wrote it off. I had another 205 after that, which I still have. Stock photo, as I don't have any of my original.

Current car is a Smart Roadster Brabus coupe.

In order, not original photos but same make:

First car at 16. Mot failure and bought for less than £30 but best Christmas present ever.

Mini with fortek body kit, stage 1 tuned & previously owned by an Irish nuns convent. Sprayed a matt grey.

After 2 minis, this was an absolute tank. Really did not take corners like the 2 previous roller skates.

Now live in a town and commute by bike.

Mine was VUT485S. It was mum's and I bent it but bought it from the insurance company with the profit of my BT shares, repaired and ran it for a couple of years as I joined the Army and then sold it when I went to Germany

Mini 1275GT - hugely modified with 1400cc overbore and twin weber cars Blahblahblah

Landrover series 2a long wheel base

Landrover defender 90 with 300tdi, then v8, then 300tdi......loved that car and owned/competed in it for 12 years. And yes that pics actually Mertyl my motor and why my forum name is Nicks90

I started off with K reg vauxhall viva with black vinyl roof (the K was at the END of the plate)
then a triumph toledo (N)
chrysler avenger (R)
yugo 55A sport - matching cars I had airforce blue and mrs had a red one.

This was my first new car E - Reg - As featured in the Sun newspaper when I was clocked at 93mph on the M42

then a 1992 clxi - first car with a cat.

1995.... nice cassette stereo

1998 (R?)_- my wifes car -only one I didn't test drive and found the pedals were too close for my big feet

T reg 1.8 Mondeo - superb handling, great fun first second hand car bought in ages. got it as a 2yr old they lost a shedful in depreciation. ford direct car.

wifes 2002 yrv... - funky fun

2005 - 2018 - si 1.3 wifes car our favorite of all time - then daughter ran it into the ground.

2003 - zafira elegance - magic carpet ride with lush seats

2007 - kia carens (the bread bin) 2.0 turbo diesel - massive grunt and quick too..

2012 - mazda cx-5 - 2.2 diesel - even quicker than the kia. didn't need 7 seats anymore....

ran into posting limit.....

I drive a 1.4 vitara sz5 and the mrs has a 1.4 swift sport.

VW Polo - Got me through uni, possible to drive at full tilt, and often was.

Triumph Acclaim - Bought off my Dad, pretty hairy handling when pushed too hard.

Rover 214 - Solid feeling medium sized car

Then a succession of company repmobiles, mainly Vauxhalls....

Rover 75 - The first car I bought new and my first diesel, I used it as a company car for a few years, ran this car for nine years in total.

Volkswagen CC = Had always liked the look of these, another diesel, good reliable motorway mile muncher.
