i had an accident riding my bike last weekend and dislocated my shoulder, i had done the same one twice before so its pretty nackerd. since sunday its came out about 5 times now and thats hardly moving or just when coughing. hospital have put me in a sling and awaiting an mri scan to see whats next. its looking very likely that i need surgery as my shoulder is hanging alot lower than it should and is very loose.
has anyone been through similar problems with shoulders?

Hi,

If you are dislocating your shoulder so frequently then surgery is the only option.

Recovery depends on age , occupation etc.

Cheers

its coming out every night while sleeping and hurts alot. im going to hospital tomorrow to try hurrying the scan up. im 23 and not working at the minute.

D,

You need to have surgery.

Get your GP to get you to see an orthopaedic surgeon via "choose and book'.

I don't know where you are but if you are prepared to travel ( and you should be with this ), you should be able to see a surgeon within a couple of weeks and have the op a couple of weeks after this.

You might have to go to Scotland or Dorset but his is possible.

A friend of mine has just had this done, he said it was a bit sore and achey after but less than 2 weeks on he's back on his feet, as it were. He's lost a bit of mobility in the joint but nowhere near as much as he was preparing himself for. He seems very happy with it all.
