Started a blackberry yesterday. The hydrometer says 1.120 before fermentation. Is that too much sugar? I will use Lalvin 1122 yeast. I used 24 lbs frsh berries and 13 1/2 pounds of sugar and filled to six gallon mark on the primary. Mike

Naw, but be prepared for a wait! If it appears to stop, try rousing the yeast. You may need to repitch if your yeast gives out, dunno what the tolerance of that one is, but I always used the purple gervin yeast for strong wines. In future, is suggest making a sugar solution and adding it gradually :)
