My old local, in Denmark, in the early 90's had a pump system all around the bar. At every table, corner or stool there was a pump. Pop in 20 DNK coin, about £2, and out came 500ml of Tuborg lager.

This brilliant idea didn't last long. Because if you arrived as they opened, you had to drink a few pints of stale lukewarm beer, before you got to the cold fresh lager.

So much for being a lacy drinker :)
