For those of you who remove elements from kettles to use in your boiler, you can use a KM8 lock nut to secure them to your boiler.
Thanks to Rob Franklin for that piece of advice :thumb:
Worth noting that you will still have to find a way of protecting the electrics from boil overs though.

Vossy, Thanks for this :thumb: , i have just put together a new 10G (plastic) boiler with the elements from backer,(same as yours) had a bit of trouble with the backer suplied element shroud/locking nut :( , so I bought a couple of these & they are just perfect.

I was thinking at the weekend about seeing if the person who did your SS coil could make up a couple of SS covers for immersion elements to my specifications, and finding a flat nitrile washer to see if we can seal up those adequately.

Great idea JB
Keep us informed, as I may be interested in these in the future :thumb:

Just drawn it all out and now I'm waiting for some quotes to come in.

Suprisingly the nitrile washer will be the hardest thing to get hold of. I know I can make my own from sheet but ideally I'm after something that the non-DIY inclined can get hold of themselves.
