Tried this brew recently and i was amazed by the taste so i promised to make some soon as i was established.

The Net curtain is now a permanent addition to my mash tun - works qite well and help me clearup quickly afterwards, although my Italian neighbour is now asking what the strange smell is - so i gave him a pint of my previous and he was amazed at the taste of it - so i promised him a litre or two later when its finished. He is 88 years old so i had to help him back inside his flat heh.

Pale Malt 3790
Crystal 375
Cane Sugar 330
Torrified 235

Boil 90
Fuggles 56

Post boil
Fuggles 11

Wort on the boil now ready to add my first load of fuggles! All Hail tgo the Ale!

heh heh... you're never too old to be educated!

Have a great brew!

Well brew day completed without any major problems - looks like im getting into the swing of things now! :D

Cooling down in the bath in two tubs did the trick - had to take it out half way theu of course because SWMBO wanted to get into the shower :nono: was going to photograph it, but the camera is buried deep under the bed. The only issue i had was the whitelabs yeast - prepped it well with some solution over night and some sugar - nothing! looks like a dead one. I used my emergency Safale 04 and its already started to bubble up.

1048 OG @ 25 Ltrs - better than expected, all losses in my system are now accounted and im getting on well with brews only issue now is where to hide it all - she still hasnt noticed i now have 3 FV's LOL

The Beer Gods have been kind to me today and i'm not even offended that my son posted on facebook that drinking beer is the reason i have a fat gut!

 I love forums (fora?) - what you write, what you mean, what we read and what we think you mean can be totally different. Even if we know what you mean but can choose to interpret something a different way, you can guarantee that someone will.

Go on, post your photos, the Mods' Lounge could do with some new pin-ups.

Cheers. Did a sloppy job in checking that in my own edition. Wasn't listed in "p" or in "w", so I decided that the recipe must be from elsewhere. Doh. Donkey hat duly donned. I'd say the fact that you've been able to keep the count of you FV's secret AND carrying on brewing while there are ladies getting undressed present is a sign of remarkable determination ;)

LOL just noticed that! i guess it must have been a freudian slip as she said to me earlier that night that i dont use my camera often enough, now im unsure what she meant by it!

Don't get me wrong, SWMBO is very pretty and I do have some 'artistic' photos of her, but my life would not be worth living if they got out on the web...

Sorry Gurt - It's Moorhouses p173 3rd Edition.

Yep some sugar dissolved in some cooled boiled water temp <25 deg/C. It seems to have just clogged together , no fiz or gas from it when opened after near on 24 hours.
