oops.
Made a new batch of ale. Left it for a week fermenting and after a stabilised OG transferred to a king keg barrel with a top tap. Added fermenting sugar but due to lack of experience just shoved in 70g in the bottom of the barrel without dissolving it in water. Siphoned beer from ferminting tank and all seemed good. I expected some secondarty fermenting to take place and create pressure in the barrel without resorting to a gas bulb. I appear to be mistaken. Is this normal or have i just ruined this batch?

Welcome to the forum. It will disolve if you give the keg a swirl. But you need to leave it in a warm place for at least 2 weeks to let it carbonate. Be patient .
