I have noticed these in the gutter in our town centre especially on a Saturday and Sunday morning.

'It’s completely avoidable harm'
Dr David Nicholls explains the effects of inhaling nitrous oxide, or 'laughing gas'.
It is the second-most commonly used substance by 16–24-year-olds.
Manufacturers have called for a ban on it being sold over the counter.

I've seen them in the gutter if the road and seen people in the back of cars inhaling balloons. The canisters can be a major hazard in themselves if slipped on.

They were discussing the subject today on the radio it seems there are much bigger tanks you can buy over the counter probable used to fill the aforementioned balloons, talks are under way to find a way of limiting the sale of these tanks to the general public which is all well and good but there will always be Ebay and other ways of buying them.

It's not good, but I suppose sniffing glue was worse.

We do need to protect people from themselves of course, but it think it’s got a little out of hand.

A person needs to be over 18 to buy a razor to shave, or glue to stick something. Over 18 to buy a butter knife, but a roasting fork with two four inch prongs is fine. Any solvents, no chance, spray paint over 16, Christmas cracker over 12.

Crackers!

The one thing I would ban is disposable vapes. I vape myself but the disposable ones are just wrong. Each one has a battery, is encased in plastic and discarded after a couple of days. For months I was wondering what the pink tubes I kept on seeing in the gutters were.

It was poppers we use to use back in the day, could buy it from the virgin megastore and much cleaner than a crisp poke and Evo Stick!
We were posh in my scheme.

I've often thought the same about 'disposable' lighters. Even most of the cheap ones are refillable, so there's no excuse for not making them all so.

Single-use items should be made illegal wherever possible, or, if that's not practical, taxed out of existence.
