Day before last election she stated "A vote for the SNP IS NOT a vote for a new Referendum", the day after the GE she stated "We now have a mandate for a 2nd Referendum".
Hmm, Liar, Liar hopefully her pants are on fire....

MB - and if this fails will she ask for a third in a few years time. The original was supposed to be "once in a lifetime". Like many politicians what is said is forgotten if it suits the individual.

My mate Roy is 100% FOR, and his wife (Fiona) is 100% AGAINST.

At the last referendum they made a pact that neither of them would vote.

They then spent from 8am till noon watching each other like hawks, in case one of them nipped out and voted! (Only married couples will understand why!)


After lunch they then went to their local Polling Station to cast their vote!


What they do at “Indy Two”, God only knows because they both now say “I don’t care how it goes.”

I always find it amusing how chippy English folk get when the possibility of Scottish Independence is raised.

Very much get the impression that English people want it badly. I wonder why the UK government don't share the enthusiasm...

As I've raised in another thread, I think the English should seek independence from the UK. Politically they don't really align with much of the rest of the UK, and currently they do not have their own parliament.

She's certainly on her way out, hence ramping up the anti Charles slurs: millions of Arab euros in paper bags, Charlie vetting new laws, etc. Because the Daily Heil wants Tic-tac in.

Who ever it was that split the country in the first place was a very clever devious ******* knowing full well that the smaller nations could never go it alone, and would be dependant on England, we will never be a united kingdom which ever way you look at it, personally i could not give a monkeys toss, i love all the people were ever they are from, we are the 6th richest nation on the planet for a nation of our size we punch way above our weight a small group of islands, Japan is the same, think how big we could be if we pulled together, it is not the people but the goverments who are holding us back, think i need another beer

I think this is most peoples opinion, personally I do care and want Scotland to remain, however, like you say, once it's done one way or the other lets move on please.

Perhaps “don’t care” is a bit strong, perhaps ambivalent is a better word.

I don’t understand the need for Scotland to get permission from the UK government to have a referendum or leave. It seems to me that because Scotland joined the union voluntarily then they should be free to leave it. Any historians or lawyers out there who can clarify?
