Reet chaps, looking at doing a Scottish 80/- Export ale, but I'm after a dry alternative to WLP028 if possible. Was thinking of Danstar Northern Brown Ale. Any thoughts?

Do you mean Windsor=Northern Brown? If so windsor is not dry at all it only attenuates to about 70%. Nottingham or US-05 are dry and attenuate to 80%+ they're not an exact equivalent dry yeast but there the best you'll be able to do I think

Sorry, wasn't Danstar, it's Mangrove Jacks Newcastle Dark Ale.... Had a wobbler there.

I used Salfale british Ale yeast in my 70 shilling. It looks to have turned out OK. Ive just made a brown ale from a kit with MO3, Im not sure if it would give you they taste of an export.

Ive just been looking at Mangrove Jack yeasts, and seen M15. Have a look it may suit you better. Its called empire yest.
