Hi there.

I just thought I would tell you about an interest in homebrewing my daughters school has taken. Apparently she has told her teachers that I make wine alot and they asked me in to do a talk. It all went pretty well and before I went I made a sample that they could see the progress of over the next couple of weeks. Very simply, I dissolved 4 kilos of sugar in water, added muntons super yeast and filled a 1 gal demi. I found a large cork, hammered it in and capped it with a champagne wire holder so it wouldn't blow off and none of the kids will be able to have access to the fermenting alcohol! Everyone seems very interested and Now my fermenting sealed demi is on a windowsill overlooking her classroom so they can watch the fermentation process.

Errrr 5ltr bottle bomb spring to mind. You have fitted an airlock havent you????

If not I'd be at the school before it opens and remove it ASAP!!

5 ltr Demi John with 4 Kg of sugar on a windowsill with no air lock in a kids class room :wha: :wha:

Please correct me and say it has an airlock and why so much sugar?
