Hi all

Made a mistake of not taking the Og of a coopers Australian pale ale i got brewing  it's now at 1012 on day six (how long the instructions suggest to brew) took a reading yesterday and was the same. I brewed short to 21ltrs is there any way of calculating the Og?

I've read you can take a sample and boil til dry and weigh the sugar ect but sounds a bit long winded and complex for a simpleton like me. I'm not over concerned with the alcohol content just would like a rough estimate as was going to give as gift to friends and family.

Cheers

If made up as per the instructions I believe it should have an OG of 1.038 at 40 pints. If you brewed it to 21L that's 7.5% short so the OG would have been about 1.041 making it 3.8% abv.

Ha. I can’t believe you did that!

Obviously, I did too.

Bottled it Sunday, just waiting now to see if it’s......not actually poisonous. That would be a win!
