for the first time i have used campden tablets in my water and miss read the label as 1 tablet for 5 liters BUT its gallons so i put 4 in 20 liters of water luckily i realise my mistake an did not put any in the sparge water so it has got 4 in a 5 gallon of beer will this be ok to drink or will have to be binned

It won't be toxic, maybe a bit sulphurous(?) Worst case is that too much k-meta can prevent fermentation :(

If you did a full volume boil that might help drive off the by-products. Don't bin it, it could well turn out fine :)

{edit} I have a bit of experience with this. I don't buy Campden tabs, as I've got a big bag of sodium metabisulphite. So my k-meta addition is a bit of guesswork, and I know I put too much in one brew - it was fine, although looking back the FG was a bit high.

yes did a full boil and you said that the og of yours was high my brew come out high to it was to be 1049 but come out 1060 so had to add some water to bring it down a bit
