If you had purchased £1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines
one year ago, you would have £49.00 today.

If you had purchased £1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have £33.00 today.

If you had purchased £1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you would have £0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased£1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you would have received £214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle.

A recent study found that the average Briton walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found that Britons drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.
That means that, on average, Britons get about 41 miles to the gallon!

Makes you proud to be British eh!!!

Actually, I just checked the figures, and – assuming you can stand to drink that much cheap lager AND the cans are aluminium, you’d only get £13.60 back.
Steel cans are even worse – 4 quid if you’re lucky.
Better than Lehman's though

Although I did think the figure quoted was somewhat too high, not even I am bloody pedantic enough to check on the scrap value of aluminium to disprove a JOKE! :nono:

I don't think I'm getting 41mpg either, but they made me smile, thanks bluebell.

Now how much did I have to drink last night and where's that pedometer?

Old bloke I think it is from the US and they sometimes have a deposit on bottles and cans - hence the high figure.
But as Moley says if is a JOKE so checking the figures makes you sad or bored - stop wasting good drinking time :drink: :drunk:

I don't get out much...
I'd done all my Lexulous moves, got up to #2 on the Bejewelled blitz chart, had a game of backgammon and PeggleWoW, checked all the forums, and had nothing else to do...
I was just suddenly intrigued by the idea it /might/ actually be viable, but it took remarkably little Googling to disprove it.
