When skimming yeast off the top of your ferment (US05), how much do you need to skim and save, to add directly to another 23L brew to get it going, without using a starter?

Thanks

If you wait for the yeast cake from the bottom of the FV you will have plenty. I just tip it into a sterile tub and wash it with boiled and cooled water tip out the water and repeat.

Around 100 ml of the yeast head is more than adequate to pitch into another 5 gallon batch.

Alistair - US-05 is a top cropper if you wait for the yeast head to drop you'll still be here at Christmas

Those Podcasts are great . . .the newer ones are not particularly interesting, but the older ones are really good
