I'm planning to open up to start setting up, probably some work to do like Skimming and gravities too, at 11am so any time from then beers can be stored in the Conditioning room until judging.
Anyone getting here at this time can help with setting tables / chairs up for judging ;)

Really looking forward to this, I'll be there as part of the Midlands contingent. I don't know how my beer will do on the day, but it will be good to meet up and put faces to names! :)

There will be plenty of butterflys before hand.

However the best beer will win, & the Social will take your mind off the competition in any case.

I'm sure your going to do just fine, good luck, and I look forward to meeting you on the day.

Cheers

Just to confirm as I have had a few enquiries on this, you will not need to have your beer in a magners bottle that was as a guide you will not be marked on the bottle, only the contents.

There is also plenty of interest in this event, so if you can make it do its going to be a cracker.

A big thank you to everybody involved involved in arranging this and congratulations to the winners.

Only a slightly thick feeling head this morning, coffee and sunshine will sort it :)

I've got some encouraging signs from the boss that we'll be able to do this again next year!

Winners as far as I remember for the IPA Comp were:

1st: Steve Syson (spelling)

2nd: Tom Dobson

3rd: Me!! (I was blooming amazed at that!)

Best Cask Ale prize went to:

Broadfordbrewer - Dave

Good work guys :)

Who were?

I'd trust Franklin's memory of that more than mine, what he said sounds right. I think Karl Clark got a commendation as well.

A Big Thanks from Me and the Northern Craft Brewers, must go to Adrian & Emma for all your Hard work yesterday on the Bars, please also thank Ewan & the Other two people from the brewery (sorry their names have escaped me) for Judging and also manning the bar.

I would Also thank Tony Gartland, for letting us use such a Fine venue, (The Saltaire Brewery Building really is a cracking venue), and also for Supplying the Fantasic Trophies, All well worth winning and I'm Sure they are all going to be prized for years to come.

Also A Big thanks From The Northern Craft Brewers and Myself, to all that came on the day, the Competitors who entered such a high class of beers to Judge, the Judges appeared to be really enjoying themselves finding the winners from 9 shortlisted beers, from the 32 that were entered on the day, and all that took and interest, I'm sure If we run this again next year it will be a very prestigious prize to win.

All the beers that placed were spectacular examples of the Style, and the Winning beer From Steve Syson, was a cracker, that was so good the judges finished off the two bottles entered, and only a lucky few (me Included :=P ) had the chance to sample it.

O I nearly forgot, being as this was originally a Northern Craft Brewers Vs Midlands Craft Brewers event, the results of the inter club competition were
Midlands 3 places in the top 6
NCB 2 places in the Top 6

Therefore The Midlands Craft Brewers took the Honors for 2012

Cheers & here's to the next event.
