As above. You can order it from your local pharmacist or online. There are about 3 different types but I can't remember which to use as I am not near a bottle of it.

As M & G said, aren't they financial know alls :x
I use videne, well pleased. Make sure you buy the right one, do a search to check it all out, can't remember the one to get, :? ;) (Mrs. S works at a pharmacy, she sorts it, )
Star san not tried this yet, slightly more thought needed, but am going to give it a try in new year. :D

P.S. Behind the pack as usual, not as quick to type, or press the submit button as Grays.

its easy to get the wrong stuff mate when there are different formulations with the same brand name . I found this out the hard way buying medical supplies when I was tattooing .

Anyway...that stuff in the picture ....thats no rinse is it ? It looks more like iodine !

seriously though , I must look into some this new year rather than re-sanitising things over and over .....

i think once viedine is mixed it de grades over time ????

to be honest i would re sanitise all my kit on every new brew to be safe :thumb:
i dont know about star san i think it can be nasty stuff if not used right ????

i've tried a few sanitizers, sodium metabisulphate is undoubtably my favourite so far - smells a little when you work with it but it's very issue free and kills chlorine...

It's also only an antifermentative NOT a sanitiser. You may have been 'getting away with it' if you vessels are clean . . .but better sanitisers are out there.

Videne is non rinse at 1.25ml per litre . . . and can be reused as long as the solution is still light brown in colour

VIDENE MUST NOT BE USED NEAT!!!!!!!

Star san is excellent as well, and it's no more dangerous than bleach . . .only difficulty with it is that it needs very soft water to make up, but you can buy a 5L bottle of Tescos Ashbeck water for a quid or so, and made up into star san will last ages.
