Peeps!

Last posted a couple of weeks back about bottling my first ever home brew batch, how to store it etc.

Well, I stored it in our office for a few days then the missus wanted it out of the house cos it looked like everything in that room was made of beer.

So I put it in the garage and just left it for a few days - opened one bottle to show off in front of the family about five days after bottling - didn't go down to well, flat, cloudy, no real taste etc.

Lesson learned and it's been left since then - until today.

Opened a bottle, nice little gassy sound when the top came off (from the bottle, not me), poured it out .. cracking head ... tasted it ... fecking briliant (well, a lot more brilliant than I thought it would be)!

Whoda thought I could brew lager that was drinkable? Mind you, I did use some real high-tech kit:

  • Plastic containers
    Cardigan

Roll on the next brew!

Thanks to all you guys here who helped me with this one!

good work. :thumb: and whats more is they will get better and better.

I concur with everyone else - be patient. Having the odd early sip when your beer is young and lifeless is no problem, because it teaches you that the longer you leave it (within reason), the better it gets.

As soon as you make a good one, you just want to make more. Welcome to the AIP (Association of Independent Pi**heads). Pubs will never seem the same again.
