Can anyone recommend a water profile for Sam Adam's Boston Lager and Brooklyn Lager
Many Thanks
Many Thanks
I would recommend keeping the mineralisation light for this style if possible, something along these lines:
50ppm calcium
25ppm sulphate
50ppm chloride
35ppm alkalinity (depending on the grain bill)
Well the only reason I suggested a slightly higher alkalinity is because I believe Boston lager is actually a Vienna lager, so a bit darker than a pils style.I have been brewing all my lagers with this profile apart from using zero alkilinity. Should try it next time to see what difference there is.
