S30 seal replacement

Has anyone any tips for replacing the valve inlet rubber on the S30? It's like getting a size 10 girdle on a size 20 woman. (I'm old). I have made one attempt, but it split when the pressure tarted to build up.

Put it in warm water for 5 minutes first ... it should go on easy then
