Cross my Loof has a good alternative Midland £2.35I've also had trouble finding low cost "standard ale yeast" at the moment. Plenty of specialist stuff around at twice the price or more.
I guess I'll just have to search online & widen my choice of preferred suppliers for my next batch.

Hi Duncr they have the yeast specs if you have not clicked on that and usually say similar to the yeast it is copying so you can look up the actual yeasts to be sure of how they fermentThese prices are very good. Do they provide detailed fermenting characteristics for the yeast? On initial inspection I couldn’t see anything.
