I've also had trouble finding low cost "standard ale yeast" at the moment. Plenty of specialist stuff around at twice the price or more.

I guess I'll just have to search online & widen my choice of preferred suppliers for my next batch.

It's even cheaper if you buy more than one and you can mix and match.

Personally, I'm not a fan of "Notty" and its clones, but their ALE yeast is my favourite for bitters. It's part of a cheaper range, but is still discounted for multiple buys.

The yeast are very good too and if you look at the names it gives a clue to what they are/or like

These prices are very good. Do they provide detailed fermenting characteristics for the yeast? On initial inspection I couldn’t see anything.

Hi Duncr they have the yeast specs if you have not clicked on that and usually say similar to the yeast it is copying so you can look up the actual yeasts to be sure of how they ferment

Not looking for kits , looking for Wilko Yeast for beer.

Why not CML? Are you looking for a particular strain buddy?

In similar news. Newbrew now has quite a few feet on shelf space in Boyes. Quite a surprise.
