I think they've also sorted the anthems. No idea of they've fixed the beer situation... 😀

Watching the ABs in the morning with my girl again. She's watched 2 games live and they've lost both them. Told her if we lose to Namibia tomorrow She's definitely bad luck... 🙂

Great game. Ref missed a straight red again (he missed one in RSA v Scotland too).

And glad they sorted one mess out. But I'm sure there's plenty of more messes to come if how it's going so far is anything to go by.

Are you talking about the yellow that was reviewed?

What kind of p***k do you have to be to go in on a shoulder to the head while 60+ points up against Namibia. Hope he gets a nice suspension.

DeGroot?
I doubt it was intentional. I've met him, he's run drills with my girls and a nicer young bloke would be hard to find. Esp a prop... 🙂

Some collisions in other games have looked far worse and yet no sanctions? It's hard to follow...

Arm was tucked the whole time. Or do you mean it wasn't intentionally to the head?

Def not intentionally aiming high. I've only seen it once, will leave it to the officials. But like all these incidents (even Farrell with his history), I doubt there's any intent, just poor timing/technique. The likes of Curry was an incident in a fast paced game where heads happened to collide. I'd like to see a 20min orange card in things like this, save the reds for obvious dirty play.

Anyway Ireland v Tonga just kicked off. This game will do Ireland good in terms prepping for a big quarter *. First showing for Tonga this cup, there's some big boys there.

* (Barring injury of course).

Regardless of intentions a negligent head tackle with no arms is more or less as bad as deliberate these days and needs to be if they're to be serious about player protection but I'll leave it at that.

Ireland looking very well alright but depth not great in key areas.

Yeah I saw the first half before I had to leave for work. Bit scared England will bore their way to the final... 🙂

Game of the round next week will be Wales Australia. I'm not actually sure how that will go...

France running riot over Namibia. Will only see the first half but they're looking impressive...

[Edit]
Oof 96-nil.
But a suspected broken cheekbone to Dupont. That's the risk of playing your best players against the lower ranked teams.

Injuries and cards could play a major role in this tournament.

South Africa Ireland could be a bruising encounter too...

Two great games this weekend.

Ireland south Africa. Huge battle here. Quite probably little consequences to these two qualifying unless Scotland can pull off a blinder. But whoever wins will be N1

Wales Australia, who knows who will win this. Probably not going to be as high quality but it's all too play for as Australia need to win to stay in it.

Yeah I can't pick that one. On form it's Wales, but Australia are wounded and have everything to play for. Despite recent results they do have some good players that could turn a game. Looking fwd to both matches.

On the Dupont injury, mixed reports coming in on the severity/his return, but interestingly there's been very little negative on the Namibian player who caused it. It wasn't nice watching the collision. Can you imagine the outcry if it was an All Black forward or Owen Farrell who made the same tackle...?

I hope he returns to play soon. It's always a hollow victory when the best players are sidelined...

Big win to England. Seems they can score tries... wink...

And bruising game underway between South Africa and Ireland. The ref is being very clear in his instruction and letting things flow.

I don't wish harm to anyone, but with the 7-1 reserves ploy I'd like to see some South African backs replaced so there's some big forwards having to play in the backline...

purely for entertainment 🙂

Had to drink my philly raspberry sour last night as a bit early to have one watching the rugby this am.
