Watched the best game of rugby for a while today in the second test of the 3 match series against NZ. First game was good, this one even better. Too bad it's 2-0 to England, as a decider would be a very fair position on what I saw.

In a way, RL is the best game of all, just too bad they had to sell out to Sky some 25+ years ago.

LOL, England got completely stuffed today in the last game and to put the top hat on it, every decision seemed to go against them. I suppose that is why we watch sport. NZ played well and all but one or two looked like Maoris to me. Good on 'em.

The ref was shocking today. No idea how high a tackle has to be to get penalised in Australia but it seems to be somewhere way above the head...

Yes indeed, some odd interpretations. For the game over here it is, as usual, 2 steps forward followed by one back.

I know LOADS about rugby. You guys/gals should listen to me! Yeah, not really. Though I have seen a scrum before.
Do the players now wear leather helmets at least? It looks like an extremely collision-oriented sport.

My nephew was one of the cadets that walked the teams out onto the pitch today, which made it all the more special :)

Some wear scrum caps as they are called. The real thing you need to know is that there are two codes, Union and League. Union has 15 a side and has contested scrums and Line Outs. League there are 13 players and the ball is in play most of the time. Like grid iron you get a set number of plays on each turn (6) and then the opposition always get the ball back. Just explaining the rules of either code takes too long - the only way to pick it up is by watching!
