Weirdly I found the boil off rates in Gash's profile to be way too high, I only lose about 2l in 60 mins on mine.

That's weird, I get just over 4L boil off with the 1900W element only. But, knowing your boil off is 2L less is the main thing!

Are you sure you're not seeing discrepancies with final volume because you have the immersion chiller in the wort?

I use a counterflow chiller so I don't have anything to bump the level up - I also checked the boil off using water when I first got it.

I think I'll run the test again to be sure, I get a decent vigorous boil so I was surprised myself at losing only 2l.

I guess it'll be obvious from what goes into the FV.

I'm pretty good at taking notes and records but I always seem to forget to write down the volume into the fermenter! I'm never short for a keg though

Would be a good idea to see what goes into your fermenter; it's the only real way to account for boil off, shrinkage and other losses.

Of course you'll never be short for a keg because that's 19L and you're claiming ~25L into the fermenter
