One of the best guitarists ever Alvin Lee of Ten years after, died today. Probably the fastest guitarist I ever saw live and I have seen a lot of the greats, RIP.

Very Very sad day, I have the greatest memory of one of the fastest guitar solos ever from Alvin Lee, namely, the track known as " I,m Going Home " , truly amazing, also done live at Woodstock. Oh those were the days. Sad day.

Also found out today another of my favourite musicians from that era, but maybe not as well know, Kevin Ayres died 2 weeks ago, it's a bastard getting old.

Too right Dennis, forgot tomention the album was Ten Years After " Undead " 1968, also included another favourite track of mine " Woodchoppers Ball ". Yup, its a bugger gettin old m8 :thumb:

Three in as many days - Alvin Lee, Kevin Ayres, and Kenny Ball. Kenny Ball was in his 80s, but Alvin died from complications following routine surgery, which is a real shame, and I'm not sure what happened to Kevin, he was found in his house in France.

Meanwhile console yourselves with this smoking rendition of Woodchoppers Ball from 1983 in The Marquee. This sent me on a real trip last night with Rory Gallagher, Roy Buchanon, Duane Allman, all amazing and all taken before their time (or before we'd had years more smoking licks from them). A sad time indeed :hat:
