Rhizome Harvesting

Although it is only mid Jan, Forum members are already asking for Rhizomes!
I planted mine in spring 2009, so this will be only their second full growing season.
Will I have any Rhizomes to give away yet, and if so, when and how should I harvest them?
Can any experienced Hop grower advise?

Not sure m8, i have heard the best time is supposed to be after the frosts around March time?
I am seriously interested in getting hold of some to grow Here in Turkey -i have the perfect spot with a south facing wall in the sun most of the day - access to loads of organic fetiliser free and plenty of chickens around to weed and bug hunt. However our problem here is that the growing season is about 2 months in front of UK. I am presently sorting out my seeds and stuff to start off now as we dont get frosts per se.
I even got a load of blue berry and black currant plants back in dec and they are in now and doing well.

Thanks for the URL SC, alas they show just about everything but Rhizomes!

Knowing how to plant them is not the problem, it's the when and how to dig them up!
