Muddydisco - Big Kenny

MD offered me one of his BK so I said "OK" and KB'd it LN. :thumb:

Great label mate - one day I'm going to buy replacement ink cartridges for my printer and make good labels again. I took the photo with my blackberry so apologies for the quality.

Bottle opened to a nice quiet hiss so I new it wasn't going to be too carbonated (and thats a good thing in my book). On pouring the dark malts were to the fore and it settled to a lovely dark ruby red and a soft head that had the "Feck Test" for Supper. Beer was very clean and I didn't detect any obvious off flavours. Deceptively strong as I would not have guessed that it was 5.4% and might have expected a bit more body but the balance was right as the malt was kept in check with the hops and roast barley.

All in a good clean beer, could easily have scoffed another. Cheers Muddy

Could you guess the hopping D?
My labels are normally colour but ran out so just did it through the laser printer.

Glad you liked it :drink:

Last night was a long time ago. :?

To be honest no particular hops jumped out at me. How about EKG for bittering and fuggles for aroma?

Well you have now
Was something I found lying around so thought I'd bung them in

Here is a better image :D

Working my way up the alcohol content of the Wraith Brewery Beers I have the pleasure of sampling Big Kenny this evening . . . straight from the beer store there was a definite chill haze, but once warmed to serving temperature everything was clear . . .crystal really. . . .very quiet hiss upon opening and no head formed on pouring . . . even when I was a bit rough to try and generate one. Nice deep brown colour, and a beer that would eat the feck test for brekfast

Nice floral hop aroma on the nose with perhaps a slight hint of chocolate. Has a clean taste, with a distinctive piney long bitter profile, well balanced malt flavours, a slight sweetness and perhaps a hint of burnt toffee . . . nice body, and deceptively easy to drink.

I must be doing something right :D
My harvest pale came second in tonights Comparision taste test at the beer circle :thumb:

I am just sampling one of these kindly donated by MD when I aquired my false bottom from him the other day.

"Photo same as ALEMANS"

Opened with a very slight hiss, light on carbonation but I think it benifits from this,
Colour is lovely chestnut and very brite easily FECK TEST proof.
I don't get a massive aroma but whats there is hoppy
body is medium nice balance of malt and bitterness certainly not cloying, starts slightly sweet and leaves a slight tingle on the tongue just before the bitterness hit.

Alchol level hides very well, plz sir can I have some more!
