Reusing PET bottles

Do you find that it is hard to get rid of the aroma of the previous beer?, I've tried washing with hot water and Fairy, plus a couple of hot rinses and the smell stays. What do you do to remove the smell?

Hi @SouthDownsBrewer, Firstly I totally agree with @Rodcx500z re the Fairy liquid. I had a few that had a hop ring around them due to brewing hoppy beers and I tried a few things but they weren't successful, the last thing I tried was to get some Mangrove Jacks sanitiser that I got sent in a brew kit bundle Here (link) or Richies do this Here (link) I mixed the sanitiser as per instructions and emptied into the worst bottles and just left them for a couple of days and then emptied, they were spotless and had no beer aroma at all.
