Has anyone ever re used their dry hops as bittering hops in a later brew? I've been googling and it seems its possible but very little to be found in the way of hard facts, such as how much bittering potential is lost (25-30% is mentioned).
As I've just thrown 75g in my Premier Pale it'd be nice to recoup some of the investment.

I can't see any reason why you couldn't.

Obviously during dry hopping no isomerisation takes place so the hops will retain their alpha-acid properties. I guess you would need to use them shortly after you had finished dry hopping with them.

Not too sure Keith, once you have exposed the hops to the beer they are obviously no longer dried hops. I'm not sure how this would effect the longevity of the hops once you freeze them :hmm:

On the other hand you'll be boiling them so it probably wouldn't matter

I squeeze every last drop of wort out of my hops and trub then re boil it to sterilize it again (because of handing ) I usually end up with another 3-4L of perfectly good beer.

Waste not want not.

I've found someone even more of a tightarse than me
Seriously, even if it's not used to make beer, it could be useful to save as wort for a yeast starter for the next brew. I've started keeping a bit of wort back in a sterilised bottle for that purpose.
