Hi all,

Just started brewing again, never gone at it seriously, more of a dabbler!

A bit rusty as last week proved! Just racked a brew this afternoon. I think it will be suitable for rocket fuel sangria in the summer! lol

For info, 2l of white grape juice, and about 1.8l of grape, apple, blackcurrent, blackberry & cranberry juice with 1kg of sugar?

Yes I remembered after I put the sugar in :nono: that I didn't actually need that much but didn't check (SG 1138).

In the airing cupboard since 8th jan, used a Gervin wine yeast no.5.

Now on the side in the kitchen, waiting for it to clear. Finished at 1060, which I think puts it at about 10%.

Might try a ready made tin next, I haven't had a go at one of those for about 15 years!

Not a bad, worked out the ABV from the hydrometer! Just found the calculator on this site, it says 10.3%

:D

Put it back in the airing cupboard, 1.060 is WAY too sweet and it's nowhere near finished yet.

Welcome to the forum

Just to update, tried to start again again but no movement.

So it has finished at 1060. Waiting for it to clear (finings added). Yes it is sweet, but this was only ever intended as a base for sangria this coming summer.

Another week on the side in the kitchen to clear and then bottle up me thinks.

Ready to start another one!
