Returned to brewing :)

Hi all! I used to brew full mash and the odd extract beer but after hurting my back lifting a 5 gallon batch I knocked it on the head and sold my kit. Some years on and looking for a joint hobby with my wife we've started brewing from kits - I also make country wines so already had some of the kit.

Just bottled a 5 gal Coopers European Lager (my wife's) and kegged a 20 litre version of Coopers Stout - smells like a lovely coffee/chocolate porter, can't wait to sample it! Looking forward to a Wherry Xmas too ;-)

After 3 weeks in bottle it's carbonating nicely, has an aroma not unlike Stella Artois but slightly light on malt flavours despite using LDME instead of sugar. Hopefully it will become a little more balanced as it matures. The missus likes it, so all good :)
