My mangrove Jack ipas gravity went down from 30 to 20 but has been stuck there for 6 days. Google said to give it a stir and add some more yeast. What would be a suitable yeast to add? Should I mix it with water beforehand?

You really need to provide more information, grain bill, volume, mash temperature and length of mash, OG.

+1

& Google is probably wrong. I personally doubt it is stuck. If you are doing 70mph is the 3rd land and the engine stops, do you mess about with the ignition key.. Nah.. you drive the car.

If the engine stops, it absolutely needs to be re-ignited. Otherwise you're just sitting there making car noises and twitching the wheel. "Is the third land" has me stumped btw. :confused.:

@Shaun-p this is a beer kit, yeah? Malt extract and yeast with added sugar. MJ make these (if it's their Hazy IPA) in 10 pint and 18L versions. If it's that kit, you should have started higher than 1030. It's supposed to finish at 6.8% ABV, which could be higher than 1060. Those kits usually need an addition of about 1Kg of sugar to bring up the alcohol content.

It was a Mangrove Jacks Brewers Series 40 Pint Pale Ale and recommended using Mangrove Jacks 1.5kg Pure Liquid Malt Extract - Light or sugar. I went for the extract.

Their instructions are less than helpful. Don't say what OG or FG to expect, so I checked it roughly on Brewers Friend with 1.7Kg of LME and 1Kg of DME. Got an OG of 1039 with a FG of 1011 and 3.7% ABV.

Did you get anywhere near that OG?

My bad " 3rd lane"

No sitting there making car noises and twitching you are still moving in 70mph traffic. 👍

Are you? Are you really? "Engine stops". Unless you're ninja fast on the clutch (assuming a manual gearbox and top gear), the car will stop. Dead. /pedant
