I've finally just got round to making up a Reserve du Chateau Italian Barolo wine kit yesterday which I purchased from amazon back in April

Included are two packs of medium toasted oak chips, approx 20 gms in each pack, however they are not mentioned in the instructions at all or in the contents list :hmm:

Just wonderedif anyone else has made up this kit or similar? Should I have added the oak chips at the very begining of the ferment, or after the first racking perhaps?, and should I throw in the contents of both packs?

thanks in advance :thumb:

In my experience oak chippings always go in at start of fermentation.

Thanks for your reply, yes I think I should've added them at the start  will chuck 'em into the FV now, only a few days too late, don't suppose it will make too much difference.
