I have made gallons and gallons of white WOW with brilliant success and err indoors is now asking me to make a red.....but I've read that juices fade to look more like rosé.

Any ideas how I can keep my red.....errr....red??

RGJ plus Cranberry? Or will that just fade too? Or is there a way of cheating and adding something at the simply to color it??

Thanks all.

As I understand it everything will fade. You would need to use food colouring or something like that.

A bit pointless really, as it's about the taste rather than the colour.

Thanks. Just having a look on here and might try the Ribena and Cranberry and see how that turns out. Cheers.

A WOW made with RGJ will turn out rosé or light red. you can get red colouring to deepen it but that's just cosmetic. Red WOW is a bit like looking for the philosophers stone. Richards Red is one close attempt but in my view a decent kit is the way to go.

add some dried elderberrys, fresh would be better, dyes everything- not strictly a juice wine then though i suppose- would be better though

Either blueberry dancer (1 litre blueberry juice drink, make-up with RGJ - I've posted a recipe somewhere) or add some elderberry cordial to you current recipes. Both of these are "proper" red wine in colour. I plan on trying (but haven't yet) a red using the Lowicz blackcurrant cordial made-up to the gallon with RGJ.

I would stir a box of cranberry and other red berry tea bags in boiling water for a while and add to ferment. Mr GeorgeSalt I plan to use the Lowecz black current in place of one of the RGJs in a Richards red. It would be good to compare notes on results.
