I am thinking of going

1st Steam beer as suggestion
2nd Black IPA might look at Leons and look around
3rd Golden Ale like @simonh82
4th Wheat beer.. I have some harvested witbeir yeast in my fridge from last year I wonder whether its worth reviving
Have done both black IPA and wheat beer in extract, both were really good.
been planning my next ones this morning-
BIAB-
Boddington bitter
Boddington Mild
Single hop Dana
Single hop Challenger
and another extract wheat and a black IPA:thumb:

I think Wyeast London Ale III is the boddington strain which might be worth spreading across your brews:thumb:

Good enough to make a second? or to have a play around with?

It was good, I think it was because of the 50/50 grain bill but I ended up with an unsually poor efficiency.. I don't know whether that effected it at all but it was a nice light on the malt fizzy drink with orange and corridander.. I would def give a witbier another go.. would bump up the bill though to cover an expected drop in efficiency

Why not take the same recipe you have for the slovenian pilsner, I take it you have used Styrian Goldings in that, and do the same but use a decent ale yeast ... then you could do back to back tasting with your beer buddies ...

Pretty good if you're just ordering some hops.

Aside though they look really expensive to me

£6.55 100 grams of Citra for example on GEB they are £4.31

£4.99 100 grams Styrian Goldings on GEB £2.44

Citra @ £4.31 where is this, as Im just about to place a order for 1kg @£72.00

With the 25% off hop pellets, Getterbrewed are definitely cheap at the moment. That's a seriously good price for Citra. Shame I don't like it that much. I usually end up using HBC as there grain is much cheaper than Getterbrewed and I normally order quite a lot in one go.

They are pellets. I prefer leaf. Only used pellets once and didnt get the right result. Nothing against pellets or the people that use them, just not for me.
I should really do a side by side comparison to see if there is any difference.

That 6.55 for citra and 4.99 for SG includes delivery though
GEB are £5.90 for 100g of Citra and £3.40 for SG then there's shipping at 5.95 :/

that is a fair comment but I wouldn't order just that I order a lot of things at a time.

to just grab a single hop packet sure it makes more sense

Yeah, sometimes it's better to get everything at once and geter brewed are decent for carriage if you're getting your malt too ;)
