Hello all,

Been brewing beers and wine for a few months, but my ladyfriend is more of a cider person, can anyone recommend a kit for a berry cider? something mixed berry or summer fruit, strawberry maybe, that sort of thing.

Thanks for the help

Magnum do a strawberry cider kit, but reports vary as to whether it's any good.

I'm currently halfway through doing one now, but I won't know if it's any good for a while cos some numpty who shall remain nameless dumped a litre of full fat strawberry Ribena cordial in it thinking it was the no added sugar one, in an attempt to juice it up a bit and avoid using the flavouring sachet that comes with it

The yeasties are currently partying like it's 1999, so I'll let you know once they've finished :D

Morning

Have a look on Home Brew online. They have a special offer on the on the rocks Rasberry and lime cider, Reduced from £16.87 to £12.87. I have previously done the apple and pear kits and they are both brilliant, more so the apple, the pear was a bit sweet for me. But in my opinion one of the best cider kits going. If you like your magners, bulmers etc then i would give this ago.

Pete

If you can get your hands on it the Mixed Berry On the Rocks kit is absolutely fantastic. If you decide to go for it either brew it short to 20L or add 3L of grape juice to make it up to 23L. It will make all the difference as my only, very slight, gripe with this kit is it's a little watery.

Best kit cider I have made by a mile, everyone loves it. It's not a hardened cider, very fruity tasting and quite sweet thanks to the additives. Very much aimed at people who enjoy supermarket ciders.

Just heard back from Ritchies. They are mass producing the mixed berry now, just waiting on the stock arriving and it will be distributed to shops soon after. The lady that replied to me reckoned we should be seeing it in a few weeks.

Can't wait to get another crack at it!

thanks for the types, the mixed berry one the rocks was the one I was considering as she usually drinks the berry bulmers, but everywhere seems out of stock. glad to hear it will be back soon, think I'll start with that. - Thanks again
