Recommend a Belgian Tripel

I recently got a box of Belgian beer out of Lidl and they were lovely, so im looking for a recommendation for a home brew kit that would be similar to Gulden Draak dark red tripel.

When you say a homebrew kit, do you mean a malt extract, ready-mixed kit or an all grain kit?
If something in the middle, I'm sure we could formulate a decent recipe using extract.

Malt extract kit I mean, im not doing grain kits,thanks.

Get a lager kit, add sugar to boost abv and swap yeast for a Belgian one.

I already use 1.5kg of sugar as it is so sits about 6%(lager) would the belgian yeast change the taste that much ?

In a word, yes. Although, ignore my previous advice about a lager kit, it was for a blonde Tripel. Something like muntons barley wine might give the malt base for Draak Dark Red.

Thanks, bought one last week,and about to bottle it tomorrow. Looks completely different looking at your barrel, with 9 litres of drink compared to the usual 23 litres lol.

I usually double up for 18 litres. otherwise great for those who prefer to do small batches
