The Stella is far better in Belgium.
Pleased to say that i have toured the Mecca that is the Leuven brewery.
Once you have watched the glass being prepped the beer being poured and the head combed in such holiest of places. You will never experience that quality again ( unless you go back!)

I can taste it now..... 😂

Same as a lot of lagers these days. The popular ones of yesteryear all seem now to be brewed under licence in all other places except where it first came from and the ABV lowered. Stella, Tyskie, San Miguel, you name it.

So those, I pretty much side line the lot and stick to my one life long love which is Budvar. Brewed where it should be and it is what it has always been.

I've spent time in belgium with work.(tough having to wash down lunch with chimay blue)
The locals were surprised at how stella was marketed in the uk. I think they considered it to be the drink of tourists.

Even Brooklyn Lager is brewed under licence in Europe by Carlsberg. I had a couple of cans at the weekend and they’ve actually not done too bad a job.

I assume since Carlsberg/Kirin only have a 25% stake that BB must have more control over the “under licence” product, unlike when ABInbev decide that Stella in the U.K. is going to be sub 5% or that all of the maltiness is to be removed from Moretti.
