I know this is a bit off topic but I was thinking.... I assume that most of the people on here are real ale drinkers. I mean yes we brew and drink our own beer but sometimes the atmosphere down at your local real ale pub is needed. Wouldn't it be good if we had a genuinely honest guide of decent real ale pubs in different areas of the UK. Real ale pub guides are good for knowing what the veriety of beer is like but never really that informative about atmosphere. Any ideas on how we could pool our local pub knowledge and create a database of real ale pubs that we could recommend to our friends here on thbf?

Its called the Good Beer Guide. Available at the CAMRA website. They also do some local meandering pub crawl guides.

I am the Chairman of the local CAMRA and we organise socials at local real ale pubs, Beer Festivals etc
